Pintinė crochet bag is an elevated take on the traditional woven baskets we grew up seeing just about everywhere in the Baltics. Inspired by our childhood summer days when we had nowhere to be, just roaming through meadows and picking berries, the textile pattern is developed using the crochet puff stitch technique in a non-conventional way. It's interlaced to replicate the pattern of the braided hair plait and the same method used in traditionally woven baskets.

  • MATERIAL & CARE

    100% Fair Trade cotton.

    STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

    Dry clean only.

  • FREE SHIPPING & FREE EXCHANGES

What's better than a sustainably sourced accessory? A sustainably sourced accessory with free worldwide shipping and free exchanges.

If for some reason you'd like to return a piece altogether, we'll always accept unworn, unwashed and unaltered knits with original tags attached. Head to our FAQ for more details.

  • SUSTAINABILITY

We don't believe in deadstock. All of our Pintinė bags are produced in small batches by female artisans in rural Lithuania. One bag alone takes full 4 days for an artisan to crochet by hand. Wanna put a face to a name? You'll also receive a card about the knitter who made your dress.

For the knit, we use deadstock yarn spun from 100% natural cotton.

NOTES FROM OUR DESIGN TEAM

This collection is a continuation of our journey exploring the symbolic elements of the Lithuanian folk poem “Eglė the Queen of Serpents” but this time we are focusing on her and building our version of the “knotty” heroine. Driven by the heartbreak and betrayal she turns to nature to gain the strength.
